TDC Poster

The objective was to create a poster representing the letter D. The final solution is a minimal approach that lets the information shine. Playing with negative space, the simple white line and corner cutouts create the letterform of the D.

Design Criticism Spread

This spread features ransom-like cutout letters, reinforcing that design and design criticism can be found anywhere. Print is one of the many places where design criticism is found, and the cutout letters are a nod to that. A simple serif and sans-serif font are used for most of the text to contrast against the many bold typefaces in the letter cutouts. The drop caps tie everything together and create a cohesive spread.

Bolthouse Advertising

The objective is to create a design for Bolthouse Farms Smoothies that contrasts and stands out among other projects. This smoothie is an ideal snack for those with an active busy lifestyle, as it helps you to feel youthful and full of energy while on the go.

ADHD Campaign

Hyper Aware is an awareness campaign for the Centre for ADHD Awareness, Canada. The name Hyper Aware works well because hyperfocus is an extreme form of focus that many people with ADHD experience, and images are black and white so that the focus is on the message.

Plant Illustrations

These fun plant illustrations have been turned into a responsive, animated site! The vector illustrations were able to be broken up easily into animated elements. Click the button to check out the site!

Arc Magazine

This project is called Arc because the main focus is on architecture, and it also shows the arc of these buildings from when they were first constructed to where they are now. Blue is used to match the sky, which is often featured in architectural photos. Blue is also cool, soothing, and secure. The sans-serif font is bold and simple and pairs well with the Serif font. Both fonts work well at a variety of weights.

Folk Fest Branding

The branding takes inspiration from 1970s national park designs, and uses green and cream duotone images. The bright orange contrasts nicely and brings your attention to the important information.

Summer in the City Logo

Summer in the City is a fun event for the whole family and the re-brand reflects this. The colours still tie into the old logo but it brings a fun new twist with the playful handwritten type. The logo is fun without feeling like it’s just for kids.
